BINI’s “master,” fearless captain,and everyone’s cheerleader rolled into one,Jhoanna Robles is the all-rounder that ties OT8together.

The 20-year-old from Laguna may bethe second youngest in the group, but she’sproven—time and again, through the years—that age doesn’t determine one’s ability to takecharge and blaze a trail.

She’s an irreplaceable force in BINI’slineup, making way for her sisters to shinein the spotlight while also commanding thestage when it’s her turn. That’s how Jhoannaembodies the poise and power that have cometo define the Nation’s Girl Group.

“Ang impression ng iba sa amin,plastikan, sapawan... pero hindi kami ganu’n,eh,” Jhoanna says. “Kung mag-away kami,away talaga. ’Pag may gusto kaming sabihin,sinasabi talaga kahit na masasaktan as longas matututo. Ganu’n kami.”

It’s this bond thathas taken BINI through the lowest of lows andthe highest of highs. It’s not just friendship,it’s sisterhood. “Kung paano ’yung talagangtotoong magkakakapatid, ganu’n po [kami].”For Jhoanna, her found family in BINI didn’tjust help her establish the career she’s alwaysdreamt of; it also filled her longing for siblingsshe never had as an only child.

That’s why, as their leader, Jhoanna isalso very protective of BINI. She knows thegirls inside out, so she’s also aware that thepopularity they enjoy comes with setbacksfor her fellow members. “Ako kasi, extrovertako. Kaya kong i-handle ’yung attention ngmga tao. Pero most of them kasi, hindi nilanakakaya so nagiging iba ’yung impressionng mga tao,” she shares.

All BINI’s leader and lead vocalist hopesfor, is that they all stay grounded as theygo through their journey as a group and asindividuals. After all, she still has a lot of otherdreams she wants to pursue!

“Ang dami ko pong gustong gawin sabuhay,” the “Tabing Ilog The Musical Rerun” actress laughs. “Gusto ko ma-try mag-host, PBB (Pinoy Big Brother), to be specific. Atthe same time, gusto ko talaga pasukin ’yung acting—anything na nag-me-memorize akosaka nasa harap ng camera, gusto ko po ’yun.Also, reporting. Gusto ko pong i-pursue ’yungtatlong ’yun. Kung p’wedeng sabay-sabay,why not?”

With her multifaceted personality andcompassionate nature, Jhoanna has emergedas a true role model not just to her fans but alsoto her fellow members. She continues to provethat leadership, like pop stardom, is all aboutheart.
