One of BINI’s more subdued yet stronger personalities, Colet Vergara isfondly nicknamed “Anger” by BINI andBlooms alike—based on the popular InsideOut character who is always, well, angry. Hertough demeanor and fierce personality areoften attributed to her Bisaya heritage, as sheoriginally hails from Bohol.

Lumaki po kasi ako sa environmentna ganu’n,” she admits of her no-nonsenseattitude. “In a good way naman.” Indeed,Colet’s strength of character is refreshingto observe—a young woman in such anuncompromising industry who isn’t afraid tosay no. “Na-realize ko nu’ng nag-wo-work napo ako dito sa showbiz, mahirap po lagingyes nang yes. Hindi siya healthy in general,sa mind at sa heart mo,” she says.

Often referred to as the “mother” inthe group, Colet’s love language tends to bequieter and calmer, a steadfast presenceamidst the everyday chaos of idol stardom.“Hindi po kasi ako showy,” she confesses.“Siguro [napapakita ko ang love ko para sakanila ’pag] binabantayan ko sila.” Indeed,it’s no secret to Blooms that Colet is the first towatch out for how the others’ vocals are doing, for any malfunctions in their wardrobe, or forhaters who are “too much” on social media.

In every sense, she’s always been palabanfor herself and those around her—and it’sthis inner fight that makes Colet such a fieryperformer. “Kailangan lang po talaga itatak sautak mo na kailangan mong magbigay ngmagandang performance na hindi half-baked lalo na [para] sa mga sumusuportasa amin,” she says.

In fact, Colet is harderon herself than anyone else. “Minsan popag feeling ko hindi ko nabigayyung bestko or nagkakamali ako, umiiyak po akoafter,” she laughs. “Pero kinakausap namanpo kami ng coaches namin na may mganangyayari talagang ganyan. Kaya thenext day, bawi talaga.”

With BINI’s packed 12-hour days andfewer rest days in between, Colet is justhyper-focused on staying 100% to keep thegroup’s momentum going. She’s most excitedto release new recordings as they explorenew genres and continue to make music asthey grow, both as young women and as popartists. “Alam n’yo po ’yung hindi na literalna parang pang-12 or 15 years old [na mgakanta]?” she laughs. “BINI na ngayon, mga 20 plus!”

Kailangan lang po talaga itatak siya sa utak mona kailangan mong magbigay ng magandangperformance na hindi half-baked sa ibang tao
