Jakarta, INDONESIA — All-Filipino team Blacklist International crashed out of the 2024 Honor of Kings (HoK) Championship on Friday.

The Pinoy team stood winless against Malaysia-based team Nova Esports in a best-of-5 matchup.

With their exit, there are no more all-Filipino teams left in the tournament after BOOM Esports was also eliminated by Nova Esports.

In a post-game interview, Blacklist Entertainment's coach said he was still proud of the Pinoy team since they placed in the Top 6 despite the tournament being their first international competition in HoK.

"We only played [HoK] for 6 months [before this tournament] so we are very new, and a very new team. Malaysian teams have been playing for years so maybe in the future [we can match their skill]," Blacklist International coach Gerald Gianne Gelacio said.

Blacklist International's players also said that their loss may have stemmed from their lack of experience in HoK tournaments since it was also their first time in a LAN HoK competition.

"Sa tingin ko wala naming kinulang sa amin... kasi feel ko lahat naman ng pinakita namin kanina 'yung pinakanatutunan namin sa loob ng 6 months na paglalaro namin. Mas marami talagang knowledge 'yung ibang teams compared sa amin kanina.

Blacklist International was the winner in the recently concluded Tempest Cup in the Philippines on early October.

The only remaining Filipino in the competition is Adrian "Toshi" Bacallo within Indonesia-based Dominator Esports and is set to compete against Black Shrew Esports in the upper bracket finals of the 2024 HoK Championship.
