MANILA, Philippines – BaliPure braces for the vaunted Pocari Sweat comeback as the Water Defenders try to finish off the Lady Warriors in Game 2 of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Finals on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Water Defenders pounced on the Lady Warriors' so-so performance in Game 1 of the best-of-3 Finals series last Saturday, coming away with a surprisingly comfortable 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 victory that put them within one more win of securing their maiden title in the PVL.

"They have nothing else in their minds but to win," said BaliPure coach Roger Gorayeb of his players.

The Water Defenders will bring the same mindset in their 6:30 p.m. duel with the defending champions on Wednesday.

Pocari Sweat, which turned back BaliPure in three games to win the Reinforced Conference crown two months ago, is determined to bounce back and force a winner-takes-all Game 3. However, with ace spiker Myla Pablo unlikely to play at full strength, coach Rico de Guzman will have to draw bigger contributions from the rest of his crew.

Pablo, the Open Conference MVP, was held to just nine points in Game 1 and had to be hospitalized over the weekend due to UTI.

"She had pain in her abdomen since Saturday. On Sunday morning, she was brought to the hospital and they said she has UTI," said a source within the Pocari team.

Meanwhile, Cignal TV and Mega Builders also dispute the men’s crown at 1 p.m. after the 10 a.m. duel for third between Air Force and Sta. Elena, while Creamline also seeks to wrap up its battle for third series with Air Force at 4 p.m.

The women’s games will be shown live on ABS-CBN Sports + Action Channel 23 and via livestream on www.sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/pvl.
