MANILA — The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver is already in communication with some of the victims of the car-ramming attack in Vancouver, Malacañang said on Monday, a day after the incident happened in Canada.

At least 11 people have been killed and several others were injured after a 30-year-old driver “deliberately” rammed his vehicle into a crowd who gathered for the Lapu-Lapu Festival over the weekend.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Consulate General have said that they “stand ready to extend the appropriate assistance to the bereaved families and will cooperate with Canadian authorities to ensure that adequate support will be provided to our Filipino community.”
