Filipino Muslims gather for midday prayer at the Blue Mosque in Taguig City on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to mark the first day of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims through prayer and fasting from sunrise to sunset.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are also expected to abstain from smoking and engaging in any sexual activity.
