Who else was thrilled with joy when Son Ye-Jin posted the news that Hyun Bin and her are confirmed to be having their first baby! 'Today, I'll be careful and happy. A new life has come to us,' the Crash Landing On You heroine wrote in her Instagram post.

Instagram translation of Son Ye-Jin's post from June 27, revealing her awesome baby news. @yejinhand

After getting married last March 31, 2022, Son Ye-jin announced that she is pregnant with their first child through the post below:

With this exciting news, it seems as though the BinJin couple will have to make some preparations to add another room to their home: the nursery. Given their hectic schedules as actors, and especially now that Ye-jin is pregnant and needs a little bit more extra care, they may not have enough time to think about the design and styling process of their nursery. So, here at Metro.Style, we wish to both celebrate the news and help the #BinJin couple by offering twenty gender-neutral nursery pegs and five tips for designing a gender-neutral nursery for the couple.

Preparing a room for a baby just like these K-Drama superstars? Here are five tips on designing a gender-neutral nursery:

Choose a gender-neutral color palette and theme.

It would be good to stick to one color palette so that the items in the room complement one another and look cohesive when you take it in as a whole. Choosing a fun theme such as the jungle or the beach for the nursery would also make designing and decorating all the easier and quicker. For another color tip, add in a few furniture pieces with bold colors to bring more vibrance to the space.

Test out different patterns and see if they work for you.

Patterns are a fun way to spice up the nursery as they can bring more depth to the space without having to compromise straying away from the color palette and main theming. Kitty Lascurain, in an article for The Spruce, shares, “A dramatic patterned accent, such as a feature wall or even a rug, can anchor an entire room, adding color or creating visual weight in its place.”

Integrate a statement piece into the nursery.

Having this one design element such as an art piece or a bold choice of wallpaper can add more pop to the overall look of the nursery and make the space look a lot more interesting.

Include furniture and design elements that can be used even after the baby has outgrown them.

Jasmine Anderson, in an article for Alure, writes, “A flexible room design means that there is space for the room to grow with the baby.” Soon enough, your baby will outgrow the nursery and will need furniture that is more fitting for their size and age as well. So, it will be much easier to transition the nursery into another room more suitable for your child if, from the beginning already, the elements and furniture can be used by the child for many years and the overall look of the room wouldn’t require much adjusting besides, perhaps, buying a bigger bed.

Add in your personal touch!

Beyond everything else, this room will be the first room where you and your baby will create memories in. So, alongside choosing elements and furniture that would fit a certain aesthetic, take into consideration your own personal styles and incorporate those into the overall design. At the end of the day, it’s your own satisfaction that matters, so whatever design or style makes you feel good, then go for it!
