Adam Alejo, a content creator hailing from Navotas, said he thought of building his own Cybertruck after reports of celebrities in the Philippines getting one, trended in social media.

"At that time, medyo nagte-trending ang Cybertruck dahil mayroong artista na nakabili. Tapos sa Pilipinas, parang kaunti lang naman 'yung may ganon," Alejo told ABS-CBN News.

It was then that he and his team decided to think of how they would build their very own Cybertruck from simple materials.

According to Alejo, the creative process took about three days before reaching the desired outcome of the project.

At first, wood was supposed to be used to create the frame of the structure but they deemed it too "difficult" to piece together, which then led to them using PVC pipes.

After creating the frame with the PVC pipes, Alejo's team used liso metal sheets to serve as the main exterior of the Cybertruck.

"Dapat talaga kahot din 'yung [exterior] tapos pipinturahan na lang ng color silver pero naisip nung isang tropa ko na what if 'yung liso [na lang kasi] silver na siya, 'di na namin siya pipinturahan," he said.

He added that they only allotted a week to create the project into reality which is why it was beneficial to them to use the liso metal sheets as it already resembles the color of the original Cybertruck.

For the machinery of the whole Cybertruck they were creating, they used Alejo's Honda PCX motorcycle as it could potentially support the frame and exterior they were making due to its size.

In ensuring the stability of the Cybertruck, the makeshift Tesla underwent two test drives in a spacious area in Navotas, and that they had to consider the wind when they were testing it.

Alejo likened the feeling of driving his DIY Cybertruck to riding a motorcycle since he felt like he was balancing it together with the added space.

He then shared that the most challenging part of the project was ensuring the sturdiness of the structure. While piecing it together, they had to attach the pipes to the actual motorcycle with zipties and screws.

"Kumbaga, mayroon talaga siyang angkas. 'Yun yung pinakamahirap kasi isipin mo kung di namin na-make sure 'yung structure na matibay, ta's inandar namin siya tsaka siya nag-break, makakadisgrasya 'yun,” he said.

In a video he posted featuring the DIY Cybertruck, Alejo caught the attention of several people on the street, turning their heads his way and smiling at their project.

A portion of the video also showed Alejo stopping at the side of the road to compose himself because he was about to pass by a police checkpoint. He shared that he was nervous to pass by and that he cannot turn back since he was on a one-way only road.

In the end, the police at the checkpoint just looked at him and smiled, visibly showing amusement in Alejo's project.

However, the content creator said that their DIY Cybertruck was for content only and after filming their drive, they would not use it again.

"Hindi naman talaga siya firstly magagawang road-safe. The idea is to just do it as a content... We prioritize 'yung safety katulad nung pag-aayos nung structure pero we know rin the fact na hindi namin ito gagamitin. Isang araw lang ito, makita lang namin na umandar ito ng 10 minutes, okay na kami," he said.

When asked on the comments of some netizens about its safety on the road, Alejo said his goal was just to entertain people and not to endanger them, which is why they won't be using it anymore after filming the content.

"Parang 'di ko na rin naman kailangang mag-explain kasi we know na 10 minutes lang gagamitin ito... Nakita nga nung mga traffic enforcer dito... The goal is not to use it para ipambiyahe but just to roam around, ipakita sa mga tao, bigyan sila ng kaaliwan," he said.
