Three chosen masterpieces of the first Filipino National Artist, Fernando Amorsolo, are currently on exhibit at the Gateway Mall Activity Center at Araneta City in Quezon City.

What makes the exhibit different from previous exhibits of the master portraitist and painter is the material used for the pieces. If one takes a closer look at the details, you will see that they are made entirely of Lego bricks.

The exhibit is a project of PinoyLUG or Pinoy Lego Users Group, a local group of amateur Lego builders and enthusiasts in partnership with the Fernando C. Amorsolo Art Foundation.

In the project, three groups composed of several members of PinoyLUG were made to recreate specific works of the master portraitist of the Filipino way of life using the popular Danish toymaker's multi-colored bricks.

The works were first shown at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on the occasion of Amorsolo's 50th death anniversary. The mini-exhibit at the Gateway was timed during the Independence week and will run until June 14 only.
