MANILA — Veteran stars Ces Quesada and Nova Villa topbill the Filipino dubbing of the Korean film “Picnic” by Nathan Studios. They are joined by Bodjie Pascua and young stars JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith.

Minutes before the special advance screening, three of the five lead stars faced the members of the press and answered some of their questions. One of them was if they related to their characters in the movie?

Villa was obviously moved to tears while sharing her experience dubbing the voice of her character. She was affected by the hardships that the lead characters went through.

“It’s all about the family, the more you will love your family after watching.

‘Cause we are best friends in the movie and in real life.

Ces also affirmed that in between their dubbing sessions, they would pause because emotions were getting over them.

“May mga times na natatawa kami, kasi nakikita namin yung sarili namin, dalawang magkaibigan na (madaldal), minsan nag-aaway tapos magbabati kayo. Sa ganoong punto, naramdaman namin kaya may time na nagdudub kami di namin alam bakit na kami lumuluha.”

As for Fyang’s character in the movie, the PBB grand winner said it was challenge accepted for her doing voice acting. The way sila magsalita, yung accent nila.

“Picnic”, the Filipino-dubbed Korean movie, hits cinemas May 7 nationwide.
