MANILA -- Actor Coco Martin has revealed his intention to work with veteran actress Gina Pareño, following her recent statement expressing her desire to return to acting.

Known for giving roles to seasoned artists in his projects, Martin shared his thoughtful approach to casting, ensuring each role is meaningful.

In response to Pareño’s wish to be back on screen, he explained, “Actually, naka-ano na nga 'yan eh.

He emphasized the importance of giving veteran actors well-thought-out roles that highlight their talents and bring depth to the show.

Martin also shared how special Pareño is to him personally, describing their close relationship.

“Lola ko 'yan. Sobrang mahal na mahal ko yan,” he said fondly. Ganun kahigpit yan! Kaya nga lola. Gets ko 'yan eh, 'yung importansya, 'yung pagmamahal, sobra sobra 'yung pinaramdam niya sa akin.”

Martin’s commitment to honoring senior actors is evident in his work on "Batang Quiapo," where each exit is carefully crafted to give the artists memorable moments.

Napakalaki ng importansya nila — give and take. Hindi lang ako tumutulong sa kanila, tinutulungan nila yung network,” he said.

Reflecting on his own future, Martin added, “Alam ko darating 'yung panahon tatanda din ako at sana nangangarap ako na 'yung respeto na nasa puso ko, nasa isip ko, sana ganon din 'yung mga kabataan na bigyan natin ng respeto 'yung mga veteran actors natin kasi sila 'yung dahilan kung bakit tayo nandito and kung ano man industriya natin.”
