Three of the eight members of the Korean girl group Girls' Generation have ended their contracts with their management company S.M. Entertainment, Korean media reported Monday.

According to Korea Herald quoting unnamed sources, members Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun have decided to terminate their contracts.

The five other members, Taeyeon, Yoona, Sunny, Hyoyeon and Yuri, on the other hand, have renewed their contracts.

With the possible departure of the three members, it is still unclear whether Girls' Generation will continue working as a group.

S.M. Entertainment, however, assured fans that the group will not disband.

"Girls' Generation is a very precious and significant group to S.M. and its fans. We're not thinking about dismantling the group," it said.

"However, since there are members whose contracts have expired, we'll decide carefully after consulting with all members regarding the future path of the team," the agency added.

Tiffany is reportedly going to the United States to study, while Sooyoung and Seohyun are expected to focus on their acting careers.

Girls' Generation released their latest full-length album in August to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
