MANILA — Organizations of composers and record producers on Wednesday joined the growing call for the renewal of ABS-CBN's franchise, ahead of the House panel vote that will determine the network's fate.

FILSCAP, or the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Inc., said ABS-CBN is a "long-time licensee and a major partner in the music industry that promotes and popularizes the artistic creations of Filipino songwriters."

ABS-CBN, FILSCAP noted, has been securing broadcast licenses for the use of musical compositions in accordance with copyright law.
