There has been a lot of anticipation surrounding the newest Kapamilya series Mars Ravelo’s Darna before its premiere – from the fight scenes to special effects, villainous characters, and costumes. Fans also looked forward to seeing how Jane De Leon and Joshua Garcia will make their chemistry exciting, considering it’s their first time teaming up.

We can say they really connect on screen, and we’re not yet even half into their characters’ possible romance. Just a few ‘asaran’ moments and we’re already hooked. The list opens with teenage Narda saving Brian from the bullies. She caught Noah (Paolo Gumabao) and his friends ganging up on Brian. Taking her mother Leonor (Iza Calzado)’s lessons to heart, Narda helped the stranger even if she puts herself in danger. The cops arrived just in time. The two exchanged charming banter, with Narda telling Brian to avoid lop-sided fights next time.

As fate would have it, they’d meet again as adults. Narda chased a thief, helping the cops headed by Brian to arrest the culprit. He recognized her as the intrusive high school girl who fought Noah’s gang. Narda, on the other hand, was puzzled as to why the handsome cop seemingly knows her.

She realized the answer as they meet again. Narda was surprised when Brian dropped by the convenience store to investigate the supernatural villain dubbed as Strength Man (Jerald Napoles). He laughed at her seemingly exaggerated stories, sparking another cute bickering moment. Then, she remembered him as the guy she saved before.

There was so much angst between them in the earlier scenes. But they got to know how awesome each other is when he trained her batch at the Vanguardia Rescuers. He intentionally announced her tardiness on the first training day, and even in such tension-filled moments, their chemistry is intense.

Things mellowed down as they witness each other’s kind-heartedness. Brian was obviously charmed by Narda watching her share a genuine moment with Ding (Zaijian Jaranilla) at the police station. In that scene, Brian helped Ding, who was busted for carrying a parcel that he didn’t know contains illegal items. Brian brought Narda and Ding home. He met their neighbors and Lola Berta (Rio Locsin), who was grateful to his benevolence. Jane and Joshua staring at each other was full of magic and you could really feel the tension and blossoming feelings between their characters.
