We, Filipinos, are known for our close family ties. And we’re able to translate it to our other relationships – may it be with our friends, colleagues, and even strangers – which makes it somehow easy for some of us to get along with others so well wherever we are and find a set or sets of family outside our home or to people were not consanguineous with.

Being the reflection of real life, that admirable quality of ours, which is having a strong sense of family, community, and camaraderie is perfectly depicted in the teleseryes that we had watched in 2022, as seen in the scenes that we listed in this special feature!

The 2022 television incarnation of iconic superheroine story has indeed dominated our evenings since it premiered on August 15, 2022. As we continuously follow the titular character, played by promising actress Jane de Leon, in her action-packed journey in fighting her throngs of enemies called “extras”, many of us also couldn’t help but admire the lovely bond between her and Regina (Janella Salvador), who’s the alter-ego of Valentina.

But prior to discovering the secret identities of one another, not to mention falling in love to the same guy, their human figures Narda and Regina are truly inseparable. They may come from different socio-economic status and have different personalities, yet those didn’t hinder them from having the sweetest bond.

Despite having a dad and a reliable right-hand, Regina still felt alone. Fortunately, Narda and her family, Berta (Rio Locsin) and Ding (Zaijian Jaranilla), warmly welcomed her in their humble abode and assured her that she’s got a family in them. Besides, Narda tirelessly listened to her rants and comforted her whenever she needs some picker-upper.

It’s really nice to have people who would be there for you through the thick and thin of life, right? And Ali (Kathryn Bernardo) and Eloy (Daniel Padilla) are truly blessed to have not just their respective families, but their friends as well by their sides through no matter what.

In times of trouble, Eloy and his adorable “4 na Itlog” barkada, comprised by Tox (Gillian Vicencio), Red (Yves Flores), and Ays (Matt Evans) had been there for each other since they were teenagers. Although they didn’t have much in life, they were willing to help out whoever’s struggling in their own ways – even it would mean having to put their lives in great danger. As Ali and her family came into his life, his family further grew. The same thing went for Ali at the same time.

However, it’s not only during in times of misfortune that we’re able to see their strong sense of family, as it’s also evident in good times, too! Who would dare forget the simple yet kilig marriage proposal of Eloy to Ali in the finale, which was actually a product of the joint efforts of their beloved family and friends?

Jane (Loisa Andalio) and Edward (Ronnie Alonte) may have had a rough start not only with their relationship with one another, but also with the souls in the Evergreen Mansion, yet they’re able to eventually form an amiable and tight bond with them. In spite their differences and unpleasant attitudes at first, the Team Evergreen still showed kindness towards them and willingly helped them in any way that they could.

From helping Jane with her transition to heaven and her unfinished businesses on Earth, up to showing their absurd support to Edward and his bandmates in their bar venture, Team Evergreen was able to prove that they’re still dependable regardless of their situation.

Thus, everyone couldn’t help but get emotional when Mr. Guzman (Leo Martinez) bade farewell to them to literally and figuratively “level-up”. There might be instances that they had misunderstandings, but those didn’t make them love one another any less.

Task Force Agila might be outnumbered by their enemies in most of their battles, yet they had remained invincible – thanks to the genuine love and one goal they share. Being together for years truly brought them closer and made their force stronger despite their number, turning them into a real family.

And we’re able to witness that with how they took care and look after each other all throughout their journey, as well as with how they sincerely expressed their gratitude and touching messages to one another during their last bonding session before their fatal mission in the finale week that claimed their lives, except for Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) and President Oscar Hidalgo (Rowell Santiago).

Being embroiled in a scandal that has gone widespread on the worldwide web is definitely a nightmare. Thankfully, Rica (Charlie Dizon) had found a strong support system not just in her family, but also in her officemates, who had showed her their unconditional support for her.

Unlike the people on the internet or in their neighborhood, they never judged her nor looked down on her because of what happened to her in the past. Instead, they made her feel accepted, loved, understood, and respected, as well as that they’re there for her no matter what. Aside from giving her the moral support that she needed whenever she had to attend hearings or she suffered from anxiety attacks because of her trauma, they also provided her the kindness and encouragement that she needed.

With all the challenges and hardships that we go through, the best thing that would ever happen in our lives is to have people by our side who will be willing to ride the tide with us no matter what – may they be our family or the people we’ve met along the way.

Cheers to genuine relationships that feel like family this 2023!
