Janine Gutierrez is grateful to her parents, Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher "Monching" Gutierrez, for fulfilling their promise that they would remain a family despite going their separate ways 13 years ago.

On Instagram, the Marry Me, Marry You actress shared photos and clips from a recent getaway with her family, which marks the first time that she and her siblings were on a vacation with both of their parents since they separated in 2008.

"First time to be on vacation with both my parents! Swipe to see my happy video of them in the same place haha," she wrote.

She then thanked her parents—"mama and papa I love you, thank you!"—as well as Lotlot's current husband, Fadi El Soury, for allowing her mother to be on the trip.

In her post, Janine also shared her message to parents and kids of a broken family.

"Appreciation post/senti moment for one minute pagbigyan but when my parents separated they said we would still be a family and they really lived up to their promise. And if anyone is going through something like that right now, I know it's different for everyone but I hope you know it's not going to be bad forever. It'll take a while but it gets better and if you're the parents and you're worried about your kids, they'll understand one day. and they only want you to be happy," she said.

Lotlot and Monching were married in 1989 and had four children together, including Janine. Their marriage was annulled in 2008. Lotlot married Fadi, a Lebanese businessman, in 2018.

In a previous interview with PUSH, Lotlot opened up about her current relationship with Monching, saying they are now on good terms after everything they went through in the past.

“Okay naman kami. Sometimes we see each other. Kami ni Fadi when we go to Janine’s house, sometimes he’s there. Kapag may basketball time si Diego (their son), he is there. Wala naman kaming problema. We’re okay," she said.

“Kami naman kasi as parents, I think it's already understood that when it comes to the kids we will always be there. We will always unite," she continued.

Though she admitted it wasn't easy at the beginning, Lotlot said she and Monching learned through the years how to get along and how to become better co-parents for their children.

"Kasi kailangan kami ng mga bata as parents. And siyempre, we want to have a healthy relationship with our children. We want them to be happy as well, di ba?” she said.

"So, whatever it is that we went through in the past, we have learned to put that all aside because of the kids. It may not have been easy in the beginning but we learned and thank God naging maayos naman na. Naging okay naman kami ni Mon," she added.
