Wellness is a way of life. Practicing it leads to healthier and happier narratives, that is why we no longer negotiate our lifestyle preferences. To actively pursue and stick to what serves our body, mind, and soul is becoming a major theme these days, and people will do everything to earn that balance and level of well-being.

As 2024 ushers in new resolutions, many of us are making a real effort to enrich our holistic approach to health. We nurture good habits, give up the negative ones, and open up to fresh and self-friendly processes and perspectives—from exercise to emotional well-being in the workplace.

To be in the know about what 2024’s top wellness trends are, we rounded up a roster of experts who shared their thoughts on self-care, food consumption, and holistic wellness and health. Check them out here:

1. Candy Drilon Dalman, Co-Founder of Centro Holistico and Wellness Doctor (@candydrilondalman.md)

“A wellness trend that I’m looking forward to is making health and wellness practices a part of your regular lifestyle. [I’ve] been seeing more and more wellness businesses popping up everywhere, making it more accessible for a lot of us. So whether it be meal prepping or opting for [a] healthy meal delivery, or going to your fave workout place, or doing a wellness treatment once to twice a month, all of these will definitely improve the longevity and quality of our lives.”

2. Chella Po, NY-Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (@betterbeing.ph)

“I would say that I’m really seeing more and more about a gentle and positive approach not just to food but to overall wellness. I saw a lot of articles about not dieting, sustainable and flexible exercise plans, or not spreading yourself too thin, and also about not making a drastic New Year’s resolution—even in the mainstream news. I think people are noticing that you end up in this January hype then it loses traction every year, so [it’s] time to approach it differently and in a way you want to do it!”

3. Cinty Yñiguez, Plant-Forward Lifestyle & Wellness Consultant and Yoga Teacher (@cintyyniguez)

“One wellness trend I am looking forward to is definitely more people (non-mainstream vegan/vegetarian consumer) learning, eating, and incorporating plant-based into their lifestyle.”

4. Ida Paras-Cruz, Founder of The Movement Studio and Fitness Trainer (@ida_paras)

“Given the rise of semaglutide, I’ve noticed a growing concern that people may cease hitting the gym, and instead rely solely on pharmaceuticals. While in some ways this can be valid, decreasing calorie intake and losing weight is only half the battle. The real battle for your health and longevity truly begins with sustainable exercise. More than just looking good, strength training greatly enhances your hormonal profile, boosts your metabolism, makes you develop stronger bones, happier joints, and a resilient heart. People keep endlessly hunting for the magic elixir that will magically transform their life, when it’s already been discovered—it’s literally exercise. That’s the ‘secret.’ Take a huge swig and get drunk on it now and start reaping the benefits. Your body will thank you in the future, I promise!”

5. Kristina Sy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Electric Studio (@kristinagsy)

“Honestly, what I’m most excited about is for people to finally be ready to get back on their feet and restart their fitness journey. Last year was still a mix of people back in fitness studios while some were still weary of the pandemic. I’m most excited about people rediscovering what workouts they love, as that’s what they will stick to and see results.”

6. Lia Bernardo, 'The Happiness Doctor', Founder and Lead Educator of Atma Prema Well-Being Group (@iamliabernardo)

“What I’m looking forward to is seeing corporations really integrate emotional well-being and emotional maturity as an integral part of their work culture, wherein emphasis on employee well-being and happiness is equated to heightened productivity.”

7. René Rosario Rodrigo, UK-Registered Master Clinical Herbalist, Founder of Oh! Holiday Apothecary (@renerosarodrigo)

“Maybe I’m biased but I’m looking forward to more people becoming aware of the effects of too much coffee. Currently, there are so many of us who are unknowingly suffering from adrenal fatigue. Making the switch to herbal teas or even slightly-caffeinated teas helps ease us back into harmony and rhythm.”
