MANILA — Mariano Clidoro, former sportswriter of Tempo/ Bulletin, Pilipino Mirror, and Bulgar, will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 29, at the Silangan Memorial Garden in Bacoor, Cavite.

He passed away last January 19 at age 79 and is survived by children Joey, Danny, and Rose, and grandchildren Jhoros and Angelica.

Known by his nickname ‘Clyde’ or ‘James’ to friends in the sports community, Mariano hails from Tiwi, Albay, and set out for Manila on his own shortly after completing his elementary years.

Using Clyde Mariano for his byline, he began his sports writing career at the Philippine News Agency (PNA) under the late Joe Favia.
