MANILA, Philippines – Leading a team to a world championship title is not an easy feat, but Fnatic ONIC Philippines gold laner Duane "Kelra" Pillas did it.

Kelra's campaign alongside ONIC might have looked easy after sweeping the tournament, but it wasn't a walk in the park. They had to defeat a world-class squad in Team Liquid ID of Indonesia in the grand finals, 4-1, and other rosters from around the globe who proved to be deserving of their spots in the M6 World Championship.

But he proved his dominance in the gold lane, helping ONIC clinch its first world title and sustaining the Philippines' dominance at the M-series.

For his efforts, Kelra was dubbed as the "Gold Standard" not just by the local community, but in other countries, too.

However, Kelra himself dismissed all talks of him being the "Gold Standard," more so in the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) conversation.

For Kelra, the job's not done. He has set his sights on another M-series run, expressing eagerness to run it back with the champion squad.

"Maa-accept ko lang 'Gold Standard' (na moniker) 'pag nanalo pa kami next year ulit. 'Pag na-farm namin next year," Kelra said.

But despite the humility, his feats speak for himself.

Kelra was the first-ever player to win all Finals MVPs in three major MLBB tournaments: the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL), Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup (MSC), and M-Series.

He was the Finals MVP of the recent MPL Philippines Season 14, a member of the All-Star first team, Finals MVP of MSC 2021, and he received the top plum in the just-concluded M6 World Championship.

And to win the Finals MVP, obviously, he had to win those titles—and he did it in superb fashion.

But Kelra refused to accept all credit. For him and fellow player King "K1NGKONG" Perez, clinching the world title was all a team effort.

K1NGKONG also shone in the jungle role alongside Kelra during their M-series run.

"Hindi lang naman kasi dalawa 'yung player," Kelra said, also referring to K1NGKONG. "Kumbaga, lima kami. Kumbaga, as a team kaming tinatalo sila. Hindi kaming dalawa."
