“While in the Netherlands, VP Duterte is set to meet with her father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in The Hague on 30 May, and again from 02 to 03 June 2025,” the OVP earlier said.

The Vice President will celebrate her 47th birthday on May 31 in front of the ICC, where “she will participate in a peaceful gathering organized by various Filipino community groups,” her office said.

Duterte is expected to return to the Philippines on June 4.

The Vice President earlier said that she decided to celebrate her birthday in the Netherlands after she had promised to accompany her mother Elizabeth to visit the Duterte patriarch in the Hague.

The Vice President had also told her father that she would focus on his case after the May 2025 midterm elections in the Philippines, where candidates they had endorsed won 5 out of 12 Senate seats.

Former President Duterte is facing charges of crimes against humanity for murder before the ICC over the death of drug suspects in his administration’s anti-narcotics crackdown.

Vice President Duterte earlier said her birthday wishes include her father’s freedom from detention and return to the Philippines.
