MANILA -- The Philippines imposed their will on Indonesia for a 70-40 win to secure the gold medal in the FIBA Under-16 Asian Cup SEABA Qualifiers, Friday evening at the Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Two nights after laboring to a 77-68 win against Indonesians, the Gilas Pilipinas Youth made sure that there would be no questions this time around.

They set the tone with a 21-5 opening quarter and poured it on from there, only allowing Indonesia to make 20% of their field goal attempts.

Jhustin Hallare starred for the Philippines with 13 points, while Gabriel De Los Reyes added 11 markers and 13 rebounds.

In contrast, no one from Indonesia reached double-digits, with Benjamin Piet Hernusi limited to eight points on a paltry 2-of-16 shooting from the field.

By virtue of reaching the finals, both the Philippines and Indonesia have qualified to the 2025 FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship, set for July in Mongolia.

Meanwhile, Malaysia took the remaining spot after beating Thailand, 78-69, in the bronze medal game.
