MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra has nailed its second straight win in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup.

The Gin Kings rose to a 4-2 win-loss card by repelling Phoenix, 119-112, on Friday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

They were coming from a convincing win against Converge, 85-66, in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Five wards of Tim Cone breached twin-digit scoring, led by the 20-point plus outputs of guard RJ Abarrientos and big man Japeth Aguilar who stuffed the stat sheet with 25 and 24, respectively.

Scottie Thompson orchestrated the offense well with a whopping 13 assists to go with 17 markers, while Stephen Holt chipped in 18 points for the winning cause.

Jamie Malonzo also had 15 points on four makes from beyond the arc.

Cone tipped his hat to the Phoenix coaching staff after their win.

The Fuel Masters tried to return into the game after a 40-point scoring performance in the fourth quarter, but that fell short.

"Phoenix is a really, really dangerous team. Their coaching staff is extremely creative in their approach," said Cone.

"I thought we played an absolutely fantastic game against them until the last couple of minutes, maybe four or three minutes with the second group," he added.

Jason Perkins top-scored for his team, registering 28 markers, five boards, and five dimes.

Fuel Masters' RJ Jazul had 18 points, while Kenneth Tuffin also contributed 17.
