Tough luck for our volleyball stars.

Premier Volleyball League (PVL) standouts Tots Carlos, Mylene Paat, and MJ Phillips were not selected in the recent Korean V-League (KOVO) Women's Asian Quota Draft held Wednesday in South Korea.

The international stint of Creamline's three-time PVL MVP Carlos will have to wait a little longer after she was not picked in Korea, while Chery Tiggo's own former top plum recipient Mylene Paat, who already had an overseas job in Thailand with Nakhon Ratchasima, is expected to stay with her local squad after embracing the same fate.

Carlos and Paat's local squads, which missed their services after attending tryouts in Korea, suffered losses in the PVL All-Filipino semifinals here.

There is no word yet whether they will reinforce their respective teams on Thursday, May 2.

Meanwhile, Phillips, who was already drafted by cellar-dweller Gwangju AI Peppers, was already exempted after attending pre-draft proceedings last year.

The star middle blocker was here in the Philippines and helped Petro Gazz nab a head start in the PVL semis.

She was one of the heroes for the podium-seeking Gazz Angels after putting up 16 points in a 20-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-16 triumph at the PhilSports Arena against the Crossovers.
