MANILA (UPDATED) -- It's the end of an era as Team SMG has released its all-female Valorant squad.

The Malaysian organization, which features three Pinays in the fold, announced this on their social media channels on Sunday.

Pinoys Alexandria "Alexy" Francisco, Camille "Kamiyu" Enriquez, Kelly "Shirazi" Jaudian along with Indonesian Odella "enerii" Abraham, and Singaporean Abigail "Kohaibi" Kong will be with other teams this year.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the release of our VALORANT Game Changers team. They have brought us so much joy and excitement over the years, and their achievements will never be forgotten," Team SMG said in a statement.

While the announcement was made this February, Kamiyu, Alexy, Shirazi, and eneriii first revealed the development to select media at a showmatch in Quezon City.

"We haven't prepared yet kasi we need a new org. So we are looking for an org," Alexy said.

They also shared that the four of them - Kamiyu, Alexy, Shirazi, and eneriii - prefer to stick to one team.

"I think for me personally, there are a lot of players in the past that I've been playing with. They are really like we have a good bond inside and outside the game and I've never felt more comfortable. I really like to push to be with them," enerii said.

"I mean, you can play as four duelists in this team," she added in jest.

Team SMG made their presence felt in the Asia-Pacific Valorant scene after racking up a 33-game winning streak, which came to an end in the Valorant Game-Changers World Championships in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

They would notoriously be known to field in four duelists in one composition and manage to pull it off when they made their world championship debut against Team Liquid last year.

"Having previous LAN experience is very important. Having a good mental is very important, Even though we finished top 4, it was very important because I think we represented APAC (Asia-Pacific) really well," eneriii said of the result.
