2 Chinese face multiple raps over Porac POGO hub

MANILA — Two Chinese are facing human trafficking, robbery, serious physical injuries, kidnapping and serious illegal detention complaints in connection with illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations activities in Porac, Pampanga.

Respondents in the complaints filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Operations and the Philippine National Police are Qin Ren Gou and Jiang Shi Guang.

Both are currently under the custody of the PAOCC after they were arrested during the raid at the POGO hub where Lucky South 99 was operating.

“They put workers here from abroad to work in these POGO hubs by force or intimidation for whatever leverage or form of pressure forcing them to do that,” said Prosecutor Darwin Cañete.

The set of Porac complaints follow the complaints also filed by the PAOCC and PNP in connection with the Bamban, Tarlac POGO raid.

Also included in the Porac complaints is the torture of a Chinese victim who was tied to a bed frame and went out to seek help from authorities during the raid.

“Number two, yung isang victim, I don't know if his name was already divulged, but as far as I know, he was the one that was restrained dun sa bed frame or bed or room, no? And kept locked for several days. And also binugbog, subjected to inhumane treatment,” Canete said.

A panel of prosecutors is expected to conduct a preliminary investigation on the complaints filed by the PAOCC and the PNP and the two respondents may be called to the Department of Justice.
