The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday said it has been sending aid to thousands of families in the typhoon-stricken Bicol region.

According to the OVP, beneficiaries include 4,000 families from Naga City, 1,800 families from the Municipality of Pamplona, and 1,100 families from the Municipality of Libmanan—all in Camarines Sur.

The grocery and food bags contain rice, canned goods, biscuits, cup noodles, bottled water, among others.

The distribution of aid began on October 26.

Last week, the OVP also conducted relief operations in Lipa City, Batangas, and provided free bus rides to stranded commuters in NCR and in Cavite during the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
