Filipino I GOT7s (or AhGaSes; GOT7’s fandom name), rejoice! Mark Tuan, more popularly known as Mark, is holding his “The Other Side” concert in Manila on January 14 at the Skydome in SM North EDSA.

To celebrate the occasion and for the uninitiated, who may have first discovered Mark as a solo artist, here are seven factoids about this amazing rapper/vocalist and, yes, musical genius!

1. Mark first became popular as a part of the K-pop group GOT7.

He debuted with them in January 2014 as the main rapper and sub-vocalist. But aside from that, he actually has 20 songwriting credits just from the GOT7 discography. And that includes some fan-favorite songs like, “Back to Me,” “Face,” “Higher,” and “Let Me.” Even now as a solo artist, he also writes and produces some of his songs.

2. Once you hear Mark’s latest EP, “Fallin,” it will be clear that he’s actually very fluent in English.

But aside from that and Korean, this Taiwanese-American artist can also converse in Spanish and Mandarin. It’s because he was born in California before moving to Paraguay, Brazil, and Korea. He even has his own language with his former roommate Jackson Wang, a combination of Korean, English and Mandarin.

3. Mark loves getting inked.

AhGaSes know that he has lots of tattoos all over his body and each of these have special meanings behind it. For example, he has hibiscus tattoos on the back of his bicep because Korea is a special place for him. Try and look for his smiley tattoo when he performs in the Skydome for his “The Other Side” concert.

4. Whether you’re a fan or not, no one can deny that Mark has a very fit body.

That’s because he trained extensively in Taekwondo and Muay Thai even before he joined the music industry. So while he may seem like the quiet introverted type, Mark can kick butt IRL. We can definitely see why global fashion brands like YSL and Calvin Klein also tap him as one of their ambassadors.

5. When asked in an interview about his ideal girl...

...Mark said that he prefers someone who’s cute rather than stylish, has long hair, and is the same age as him. But more importantly, she has to be the type of woman that makes him want to always think of her and be with her.

6. His latest EP, “Fallin,” is a lighter, bouncier counterpart to his first album, “The Other Side.”

According to Mark, the former is less moody than the latter and is more fun to perform during concerts. It’ll be interesting to see how he combines these two sides on stage.

7. He is still a member of GOT7.

Mark and the rest of GOT7 might have launched their own successful solo careers but unlike other groups that disband after leaving their label, GOT7 is still active and they are still the best of friends. Recently, at the 33rd Seoul Music Awards held in Bangkok, Mark and his bandmates Youngjae and BamBam even won the Global Producer Award. According to BamBam, they’ll be making a comeback in 2025! Will they finally come back to Manila as a group? We hope so!
