Rumors were finally silenced as Kapamilya actress Chie Filomeno confirmed that she and hunk actor Jake Cuenca are already dating. In the recent media conference of “A Very Good Girl,” she said that they are talking and taking their time. “You can say dating, of course, yes.”

“‘Yung maganda kay Jake ay he knows where my heart is. Alam niya ang priority ko and hindi niya ako minamadali,” the “Missed Connections” star added. “Very gentleman siya and he respects my decisions. He is willing to wait.”

A few months ago, the two have stirred dating rumors as Jake has been constantly commenting on Chie’s Instagram posts. Often, he would also leave fire emojis in the comment section, prompting netizens that something special was going on.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old actress revealed that Jake, 35, has met her parents, too. “Sabi naman nila Mommy and Daddy, 27 na naman ako and I can make my own decisions,” she shared with ABS-CBN. “Nandiyan pa rin naman sila to guide me.”

As to how Chie and Jake’s relationship blossomed, Chie disclosed that in the past, they have already started going out. “‘Yun ‘yung phase niya na medyo marami pang nangyayari sa kaniya. And ako, I was young back then. In-accept namin ‘yung fact na nawala ‘yun. And I think naging destiny na lang din talaga na nagkita kami sa Christmas Ball.”

The most recent Star Magical Christmas event, which took place last November 2022 at Sheraton Manila Hotel, was the star-studded Yuletide celebration of Star Magic. It gathered its biggest and brightest stars for a night of thanksgiving and fun.

Prior to dating Chie, Jake was in a relationship with beauty queen-actress Kylie Verzosa. In April 2022, the pair called it quits and ended their three-year romance. Chie, however, doesn’t feel a single worry about her being a possible rebound.

According to Chie, Jake is no red flag and she admires his being passionate and family-oriented. “I think he is mature enough na hindi papasok sa isang bagay na hindi pa siya ready, fully committed. So, I think ‘yun nga, kaya nga we are all taking our time.”
