We've all heard stories from ex-housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother” finding their purpose while inside Bahay Ni Kuya—whether through the tasks, meaningful connections, or the wisdom shared by Big Brother himself. It’s a life-changing journey for many, and for “PBB Gen 11” ex-housemates Dingdong Bahan and Patrick Ramirez, also known as "DongPat," that transformation has been no different.

But how much have they really changed from the time they shot their pre-house interviews to after their stints? Do they still stand by what they said about themselves back then, or has their outlook completely evolved? Watch as they react to their old and unreleased PBB interviews!

Starting with Dingdong, his old profile discussion had him describing himself as an extrovert who thrives around people, always joyful, and constantly seeing the brighter side of things. He also mentioned being competitive, with a knack for weighing situations and bringing out his best in any scenario.

But during his time in Kuya’s house, while his extroverted and happy nature stood out, Dingdong admitted something surprising—he wasn’t as competitive as he thought he would be. He reacted, “Medyo nakalimutan kong maging competitive sa part na ‘yun,” explaining that once inside, the atmosphere felt more like finding a family than being in a competition. "Hayaan mo na," he quipped.

One of his greatest strengths is his ability to connect with people. His skill in understanding how others communicate, combined with his strategic mindset as an engineer, helped him balance tasks and think critically under pressure. On the flip side, during the interview, Dingdong opened up about his weaknesses, such as his soft spot for family and his occasional moodiness, especially when it comes to chores. He also admitted that his talkative nature could sometimes get him into trouble when he becomes too comfortable with others. But, sharing his “PBB Gen 11” experience with his partner, Patrick, helped him manage this trait, as Patrick became his go-to person for venting frustrations as a housemate.

In his past interview, Dingdong offered himself some valuable advice: to be authentic and control his actions, understanding that while every emotion is valid, actions have consequences. He emphasized the importance of gratitude and giving credit where it’s deserved. Upon watching his old self give that advice, Dingdong couldn’t help but laugh, “Cute naman ‘yung sinabi ko,” but more importantly, he reflected on how having a thankful heart remains deeply ingrained in him. Even now, post-PBB, that sense of thankfulness continues to shape his journey. “Lahat ng learnings from Kuya, baon ko siya hanggang pagtanda ko,” he noted how both the highs and lows, including moments of being called out by Big Brother, have left a lasting impact on how he views the world.

Almost three months later, Dingdong feels satisfied with his growth. And with a little smile, Dingdong concluded, “I miss you, Kuya, big time.”

Patrick couldn’t help but smile, too, as he watched his old interview, a hint of nostalgia in his expression. Though some things have changed, his core description of himself remains true. He had always seen himself as creative, something he showcased inside the house through his ability to whip up meals despite limited resources. His strength of being a good listener, of not judging others based on first impressions, and instead making sure to hear every side of the story, also revealed itself. Patrick had likewise referred to himself as a motivator—a role he fully embraced after his own struggle with lack of drive, which taught him that ultimately, you must be your own biggest source of motivation.

Oh, the difference Kuya’s guidance can make! Before entering the PBB house, Patrick was scared of public speaking. However, after his time inside, he proudly overcame this weakness, realizing he can speak confidently in front of others as long as his words come from the heart.

"Huwag kang matakot na ipakita 'yung totoong ikaw. Huwag mong hayaan na lamunin ka ng sasabihin ng iba. Ilabas mo 'yung inner child mo, 'yung talent at skills, kasi once in a lifetime lang ito, bigay mo 'yung happiness na deserve mo," Patrick had advised his past self. And he’s glad he carried these words with him into the famous yellow house.

Reflecting on his journey, he expressed, "No’ng lumabas kami sa Bahay, somehow kuntento rin ako kasi alam kong pinakita namin lahat ng makakaya namin para makapag-inspire ng tao sa loob, especially sa mga nanonood ng PBB."

The interview continued with the ‘past’ Patrick wishing for his future self to be proud—and, in truth, he is. "Sana marami kaming na-inspire ni Dingdong," Patrick added. "I hope maraming kagaya namin na natutong mag-voice out, mas tumapang, at huwag ipakita 'yung totoong ikaw.”
