Infanta, Quezon faces 45°C heat index

Infanta, Quezon is facing 45-degree Celsius heat index today, May 2, the highest in today’s forecast by PAGASA.

More than 20 other areas are under the dangerous heat index level with 42 degrees and above, mostly from Region I, III, IV-A and V, said the weather bureau.

The rest of the country, including the National Capital Region (NCR), falls under the extreme caution level with heat index of 33 to 41-degree Celsuis.

PAGASA, as of 3 a.m. today, said Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate are set to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the low pressure area (LPA).

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao are also expected to see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Residents are advised to look out for possible flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon should prepare for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
