MANILA, Philippines – Mayor Benjie Magalong has secured his third and final term in Baguio City.

Magalong, 64, will have a fresh three-year mandate after receiving 55,497 votes, per the final tally of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), overcoming a formidable opponent in outgoing Congressman and mayoral candidate Mark Go.

Go reportedly conceded to Magalong as early as 10 p.m. on Monday night.

This was not the only loss sustained by the Go family in the midterm elections. His wife, Sol Go, placed second in the congressional race, losing to seasoned Baguio politician Mauricio Domogan who collected 45,767 votes.

For his part, Domogan, a six-term city mayor and three-term representative, will be taking the lone congressional seat of Baguio.
