The BRP Gabriela Silang returned at the Port Area in Manila on Monday, April 21, after the successful completion of its 26-day tri-country port visit mission in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

The military ship first docked in Thailand in April 1, Malaysia in April 8, and Vietnam in April 14 to 17.

The PCG delegates attended a series of engagement, meetings and discussion with other countries’ coast guards aimed at enhancing interoperability and trust, strengthening crisis coordination, and exchanging best practices on maritime safety, law enforcement, and environmental protection.

The mission is part of the coast guard’s effort to strengthen maritime diplomacy under the framework of the ASEAN Coast Guard Forum (ACF).
