MANILA — The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is set to participate in this year’s Talisman Sabre, a biennial multinational military exercise led by Australia and the United States.

PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said they will be sending officers and enlisted personnel as observers in the “largest and 11th iteration of the exercise” scheduled from March 29 to April 5.

“Nineteen PAF officers and enlisted personnel will be present as spectators, allowing them to observe and gain valuable insights into large scale multinational operations,” Castillo said on Wednesday.

“Their participation will help improve doctrinal knowledge, strategic planning and coordination skills, strengthening PAF capacity for future joint exercises,” she added.

The exercise will involve live drills, amphibious landings, ground force maneuvers, air combat, and maritime operations, providing a comprehensive training environment for participating forces.

“The exercise also aims to enhance interoperability, coordination and operational readiness among allied forces,” the official said.

The PAF’s involvement in Talisman Sabre 2025 aligns with the Philippines’ defense cooperation agreements with the US and Australia, according to Castillo.
