MANILA -- Immigration agents nabbed three foreign nationals on Valentine’s Day, following a report from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) linking them to illegal online gambling.

BI intelligence division division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said the three Chinese nationals were arrested in Brgy. Milagrosa in Calamba, Laguna after the BI receiving a report from PAOCC that the trio were conducting online gambling and are engaging in prostitution.

Upon checking, two of the suspects were found to be in the country on a tourist visa. The third was holding a working visa for a company based in Makati.

“The BI remains committed to strengthening border security and going after foreign nationals who abuse their stay in the country,” said Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).

All three suspects will remain in PAOCC’s facility in Pasay City while undergoing deportation proceedings.
