MANILA — Grocery retail chain Puregold aims to open 25 more stores in the Philippines this year as part of its “aggressive expansion” strategy, according to its Vice President for Operations Antonio Delos Santos.

Puregold already has 512 stores nationwide, and now the company is particularly eyeing locations it has not yet reached.

“Very soon we will be opening in Pantukan in Davao (De Oro), we will be opening in Sindangan in Zamboanga. That’s our very first store in Zamboanga,” said Delos Santos during the opening day of the Tindahan ni Aling Puring Convention 2025 in Pasay.

“Marami rin tayong bubuksan na tindahan sa Norte at kahit dito sa Metro Manila at Bicol,” he added.

Delos Santos also invited sari-sari store owners to come to the three-day convention, which will run until May 17, 2025, for big discounts on different products from a hundred brands, plus freebies.

There will also be entrepreneurship seminars.

“Tuturuan namin kayo kung paano magbukas ng negosyo. hindi lang yun, tuturuan namin kayo para masiguro na ang negosyo niyo ay lalago at aasenso katulad ng milyong miyembro ng Tindahan ni Aling Puring,” said Delos Santos.

Puregold also touted that its Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) program has also recently reached over one million active members.

The company earlier disclosed its consolidated net income jumped 21.3 percent to P10.4 billion in 2024, from the P8.6 billion seen in 2023.

This was amid strong sales and improvement in the gross margins for the S&R business.
