MANILA — The Philippine Coast Guard has deployed rescue teams to parts of Metro Manila to help rescue people trapped by flooding caused by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina.

Speaking on Teleradyo Serbisyo, Rear Adm. Armand Balilo, PCG spokesperson, said 70 percent of coast guard personnel are on red alert and have been deployed for flood response.

He said the PCG has deployed around 40 rubber boats, each with a seven-person team, for rescue operations.

Those operations are currently underway in parts of San Juan and Mandaluyong.
