MANILA — The leaders of the House of Representatives of the 19th Congress have started preparing for the 20th Congress, holding a “unity meeting,” a few days after the elections.

Suarez, who is part of the dominant party Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), said the meeting signaled the leaders’ expectation that Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez will retain the House speakership in the 20th Congress.
