MANILA — The direct bus route that used to connect the Los Baños and Diliman campuses of the University of the Philippines has been revived and is now operational.

In a statement last week, UPLB said it partnered with provincial bus operator DLTB Co. to relaunch the bus route, following a surge in demand for a direct bus service between UPLB and UPD "driven by the increasing need for inter-campus coordination, research collaborations, and participation in university events."

DLTB buses now run on weekdays and Saturdays with a regular fare of P165. Below are the departure times:

• UPLB to UPD: 5 a.m., 1 p.m., and 6 p.m.
  
• UPD to UPLB: 5 a.m., 9 a.m., and 6 p.m.

UPLB said the collaboration was finalized after discussion and coordination with UPD's Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and DLTB.

"Commuters have always relied on public transportation, which often involves multiple transfers, extended travel time, and unpredictable schedules," UPLB said.

"The UPLB-UPD-DLTB collaboration is expected to address these challenges by offering a direct route with multiple scheduled departures."
