MANILA -- TV host and Tutok to Win party-list Representative Sam Verzosa congratulated and shook hands with fellow Rising Tigers Ball "Man of Power and Purpose" awardee, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Wednesday night.

This marked the first interaction between Moreno and Verzosa since they both filed their candidacies for the mayoralty of Manila.

"Nasa stage na po kami. Wala naman bad blood sa amin. It was just a gentleman's gesture. Parehas kami na-awardan. Nagkamayan lang kami," Verzosa said after the event in Makati City.

Verzosa said he was surprised to see Moreno at the event.

"Doon ko lang nalaman sino ibang awardees. Pag punta namin dito, award lang namin iniisip namin," he said.

"Nagsama na kami dati. Pero after declaration, ngayon lang," he added.

The Tutok to Win party-list representative previously admitted that he felt Moreno did not acknowledge his candidacy.

"Bigla siya lumabas ng nagsasalita ako. Na-inform lang ako, ngayon. Hindi ko napapansin. Pero kung ganon, wala tayo magagawa," he said.

Verzosa was also recognized with the "Philanthropist of the Year," "Excellence Award for Outstanding Public Service Program," and "Excellence Award for Outstanding Public Service Program Host" awards.

Meanwhile, Moreno, a fellow awardee, expressed his well-wishes when asked about Verzosa's presence at the Rising Tigers Ball.

"Good luck," the former Manila Mayor said, gesturing a thumbs up.

In his speech, Moreno dedicated the award to the residents of Manila, whom he served as mayor from 2019 to 2022 and as vice mayor from 2007 to 2016.

"Maraming salamat sa pagkilala niyo sa ambag namin sa mamamayan. Yung pagkilala niyo sa amin ay inaalay ko sa tunay na mga batang Maynila. Kung hindi dahil sa kanila, hindi ako mabibigyan ng pagkakataon maglingkod, which I am very grateful," he said in his speech.
