The Department of Health (DOH) has deployed Health Emergency Response Teams (HERTs) to evacuation centers in Albay, Camarines Sur, Matnog Port, and other areas devastated by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. 

According to the agency, the teams provided medical interventions, like hygiene kits, medicines, and consultations. 

"Nabigyan ng mga hygiene kits, iba’t ibang klase ng mga gamot at konsultasyon ang ilang mga evacuees matapos ang initial assessment  sa kanila sa ilang evacuation centers," the DOH said in a Facebook post.

 "Sinisiguro naman ng DOH na magiging sapat ang supply ng disinfectants, chlorine granules, at aquatabs na importante upang mapanatili ang personal hygiene at access ng mga evacuees sa malinis na tubig, at sanitation," it added. 

The agency shared some local Emergency Operations Center and Patient Navigation Referral units are open 24/7 to monitor other areas in the regions that need additional help. 

Meantime, Health Sec. Ted Herbosa said three DOH Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Teams (PEMAT) are ready to be deployed, as these groups are experts in medical services during disasters, such as typhoons and earthquakes.

"Bihasa sa pagsasagawa ng serbisyong medikal ang DOH PEMAT sa panahon ng sakuna tulad ng bagyo at lindol. Kumpleto rin sa water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facility ang grupo para sa outpatient care," the DOH said. 

"Binubuo ng Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium (PEMAT Metro Manila), Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (PEMAT Luzon), at Eastern Visayas Medical Center (PEMAT Visayas) ang mga itinanghal na PEMAT ng WHO (World Health Organization), na handa at sinanay na rumesponde sa mga domestic at international deployment," it added.
