Filipino talent and influence have found places on the global stage, including prestigious events like the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where new films from different genres and countries are previewed. This year's Cannes Film Festival—its 78th edition—ran from May 13, 2025 to May 24, 2025.

Filmmakers, artists, models, and influencers have gathered at the French Riviera to celebrate artistry and creativity, including fashion and style statements. Cannes, with its iconic red carpet staircase, is in many ways a fashion spectacle, too—a celebration of cinema and couture. And Filipina beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey, Kylie Verzosa, and Chelsea Manaloa made their strong and stunning presence felt at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival red carpet and beyond.

Here's everything about their appearances at Cannes:

Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa

It was Kylie's third time attending the Cannes Film Festival, and the actress-entrepreneur slayed on the red carpet just as she always did. The L’Oréal Paris ambassador first walked the red carpet wearing a strapless yellow ensemble by Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner, accessorized with jewels from Tiffany and Co. In an interview and behind-the-scenes look at her preparations, which she shared with Metro, Kylie said that the best thing to do on the red carpet is to "stay calm." "'Cause there's like a hundred people around you, it's important to just relax and enjoy the moment. I'm super grateful that I'm here," Kylie said.

Kylie had a second moment on the red carpet, donning a black and silver form-fitting gown by Lebanese-Italian Tony Ward, matched with jewels from Damiani. She watched the premiere of La Femme La Plus Riche Du Monde (The Richest Woman In The World); directed by Thierry Klifa, the drama film was loosely based on the 2010 Bettencourt Affair involving the heiress to the L’Oreal empire.

Miss Universe Asia 2024 Chelsea Manalo

It was Chelsea's first time at Cannes, and she truly made the most of the experience. The beauty queen walked the red carpet as a Miss Universe representative and muse of Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco. She wore a yellow sculpted couture column gown, which the designer described as "an ethereal vision of elegance and power, fit for a queen."

The Filipino beauty queen took to Instagram to talk about this amazing red carpet moment, writing, "Walking the red carpet at Cannes still feels like a dream, one that I manifested, believed in, and held close to my heart. I’ve always trusted that everything happens for a reason, and this journey to France has proven just that. From dreaming about being here to now walking the carpet and being part of the @missuniverse this is more than I ever imagined. I’m deeply grateful to the incredible team who made this possible, flew me here, and helped me shine. Most of all, I walked this carpet carrying the love and support of everyone who has stood by me. This moment is for every Filipino who dared to dream, we made it!"

There to experience the thrill of Cannes with her were her fellow beauty queens, Miss Universe Americas 2024 Tati Calmell and Miss Universe Europe & Middle East 2024 Matilda Wirtavuori. They modeled for Michael Cinco's show at the iconic Carlton Hotel, an event that continued with a charity gala by Fashion Closet, where Osmel Sousa, was honored for 50 extraordinary years of shaping the legacy of Miss Universe.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey

Pia once again showed what a style star she truly is. She commanded attention at the Cannes red carpet, looking glamorous in her black turtleneck, embellished, and backless gown by Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad. Wittily describing her outfit and the sexy surprise it came with, Pia said, "The front made a promise. The back kept it."

The fashion and beauty muse also attended L’Oréal Paris' Lights On Women Award, which champions emerging female voices in film. Pia graced the event in a black dress by Vietnamese designer Dang Hoang.

She wrapped up her Cannes attendance during the festival's closing night by shining a spotlight on the creation of Filipino fashion designer Mark Bumgarner, who created a green drop-waist A-line gown that Pia and her stylist Perry Tabora accessorized with Bvlgari jewels.
