“I always strive to do something new, something exciting, something beautiful. I always want to do better than what has already been done,” declares Peter Philips. The Belgian makeup artist has been at the helm of Dior Beauty as its creative and image director since his appointment in 2014, in charge of everything from the Maison’s runway looks to the brand’s makeup collections.

Dubbed the Nudes N’ Roses collection, ten new shades have been added to the lineup and are designed to enhance different skin tones. Infused with jasmine wax and plum oil, the lippie delivers saturated color alongside a creamy texture. 

JisooEqually mesmerizing are the radiant lipsticks’ chic limited-edition cases, like the Dior Oblique in beige and blue jacquard canvas, or its magenta monogram colorway dubbed Pinkmania. Exuding subtle elegance is its Tutu case, in pale pink and the brand’s trademark Cannage stitching. What’s more, the cases are refillable and interchangeable, allowing one to create a personalized fashion and beauty accessory.

Telling Metro more about these new iterations of Dior Addict, which just launched in the Philippines last week, is Philips himself in this special interview.

What inspires you the most when creating new shades for Dior Addict, and how do they enhance different makeup styles?

It’s always exciting to create new shades and to integrate them in a full look. Dior Addict is such an inspiring and fun product to play with. Its texture is smooth, caring and luxurious, giving a plump and luscious makeup result. The shade range, including the 10 new shades are easy to incorporate in any look, from casual, to sexy, from sophisticated to quirky.

Talk us through the process of creating the full shoot beauty looks using the new Dior Addict Lipsticks and cases.

The power of Dior Addict lies not only in its excellent formula and diverse range of shades, but also in its unique packaging. We all know the timeless black lacquered-like case, crowned with a silver pearl and signed with the iconic Dior Oblique signature. But next to that, we launch our collectible fashion cases, all inspired by desirable Dior codes that you can find on our catwalks and fashion shoots. 

For the blue Oblique Case look, I used on lips the new Dior Addict 380 Pink D-sire, on a glowing skin, and a classic black eyeliner. A cool, simple, sophisticated look. 

For the pink Oblique Case look, I went a bit more playful using Dior Addict 120 Pink Callisto on lips and a bold blue eyeshadow on the eyes. The skin I kept luminous with a delicate blush. A playful and eye-catching look. 

For the Pink Cannage Case look, I applied Dior Addict 212 Tutu on lips and I dressed the eyes and cheeks in a cloud of pink nuances, on a luminous glowing skin.

What makeup trends are you excited for this spring?

Everything glow, I love that everyone is embracing the power of glow. For skin, eyes, or lips, glow is super popular now. Everyone can turn on their inner light through glow, that’s the magic of makeup.

The color palettes for the looks are quite varied, ranging from the soft tones of 'Dioriviera' to the bold hues of 'Pink Callisto.' How did you decide on these color combinations, and what do they convey about the Dior Addict 2025 collection?

The Dior Addict 2025 collection has 10 new marvelous shades that truly complete the existing Dior Addict range. The strength of this range is that the new shades have a natural flair without being invisible. We have warm and cold tones in pink, corals, and beiges, and some deeper shades. And for this shoot, I just let the girls inspire me, I just picked the shades that matched or completed the look. 

Based on your experience and the trends showcased in this shooting, what do you foresee as the upcoming trends in makeup for 2025? How is Dior positioning itself to lead or adapt to these trends?

Trends these days are very particular, not only because there are constantly more than one trend happening at the same time, but also because of trends often being linked with going viral; they can come suddenly out of the blue, and they can also disappear in the wink of an eye. When a product is good and people catch on to it, the product can become a trend, or the look it creates can become a trend. So the secret is to create and offer products that don’t let you down, good quality products with justified claims. Products that have something unique or outstanding, and products that deliver. And with our Dior Addict woman, for example, we have such a product.

What are the benefits of the Dior Addict lipstick formulation?

The Dior Addict formula with Jasmine wax and plum oil, this will give you extreme comfort and keeps your lips hydrated. The texture is soft and creamy when you apply a Dior addict lipstick, you feel pampered. The formula takes care of your lips in a sensorial and in a cosmetic way. 

What is your top tip for applying Dior Addict lipsticks?

There’s absolutely no reason not to wear a Dior Addict lipstick, the shades are easy and accessible, the formula feels like a rich luscious balm, and the new range of shades has a relaxe,d natural vibe. You can just apply it as a regular lipstick for a beautiful, shiny result. Or you can combine the Dior Addict lipstick with a lip contour liner for a more plumping illusion. Either way, it’s almost mistake-proof; all you have to do is enjoy the benefits.
