The fourth edition of Ternocon was a success. More than just a fashion show, this social gathering is a platform that highlights budding Filipino designers while preserving the cultural significance of the terno. Whether you're a fashion enthusiast or a cultural observer, Ternocon offers a refreshing perspective on how tradition and modernity can beautifully coexist.

This year’s finalists created artful ternos inspired by National Artists and their celebrated works. Peach Garde of Tapaz, Capiz earned the highest award of the evening, the Pacita Longos Medal (Gold), for his sculptural designs. Peach was inspired by National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin. Drawing from Leandro’s legacy, Peach incorporated innovative fabric choices and geometric patterns into his work.

Other designers who made a mark during the competition were Bryan Peralta of Makati, Ram Silva of Iloilo, and Windell Madis of Batac City, Ilocos Norte. Bryan won the Pura Escurdia Medal (Silver) for his reinterpretation of National Artist Jose Joya’s works. Ramon Valera Medalist (Bronze) Ram beautifully incorporated grass and palm leaves into his Fernando Amorsolo-inspired looks. Windell earned his spot as the receiver of the Joe Salazar Medal (Chief Mentor’s Award) for channeling the distinct style of National Artist for Visual Arts Hernando R. Ocampo.

After the presentation of the 12 finalists, it’s also fitting to mention the extraordinary collections presented by this year’s Ternocon mentors: Rhett Eala, Lulu Tan-Gan, and Ezra Santos. Their designs prove that art and fashion can inspire generations and generations of creatives.
