MANILA – Standard Hospitality Group (SHG) is set to open its biggest Kiwami: Japanese Master Kitchens outlet yet at the sprawling SM Mall of Asia.

According to Kiwami's Facebook page, the new MOA branch will have its grand opening on June 23.

This new 700-plus square-meter restaurant, featuring sleek and ambient interiors and a seating capacity for 250, marks a significant expansion for the popular Japanese dining concept.

Kiwami distinguishes itself by focusing on the Japanese principle of single-dish mastery. The new SM Mall of Asia branch will house six distinct "master kitchens" -- Yabu (katsu), Ippudo (ramen), Hachibei (yakitori), Hannosuke (tempura), Koyo (sushi handrolls), and Hokkaido (soft cream). Each kitchen boasts dedicated spaces, Japan-trained chefs specializing in their respective dishes, and specialized equipment to ensure authenticity and consistent quality.

"We put a premium on giving our customers the authentic Japanese culinary experience," SHG stated in a press release.

Over chasing seat capacity, SHG said it upholds its promise of mastery by using 30% of the store’s space to house kitchens for each brand and having multiple Japan-trained chefs per brand.

"These master kitchens enable us to provide our customers with the best quality Japanese food, with speedy service, and consistency with our standards of taste and service.," it said.

The opening of the SM Mall of Asia branch signifies an accelerated expansion for Kiwami, being its third major launch in under a year.

This follows the successful reopening of its Alabang Town Center location just two months prior, and a significant revamp of its Bonifacio Global City outlet less than a year ago, signaling strong market demand and positive momentum for the brand.
