MANILA -- An upcoming game for the PlayStation 5 and the PC will feature Filipino culture and landscapes, while navigating the character through grief and loss.
Until Then, published by Maximum Entertainment and developed by Polychroma Games, revolves around Mark Borja's journey after a catastrophe and losing a loved on in the process. In the game, Borja and his friends will try to unravel a mystery in a race against time.
The game fetes a metropolitan city inspired by Philippine locations and culture. For the game's creators and producers, "Until Then" is a "love letter" to Philippine youth.

Campaign poster-plastered walls, train stations, a "spoof" waiting shed with a politician's name on it, and a perya (carnival) are just among the many reflections of Filipino landscapes in the game.
"From small details in the background to major motifs in the setting of the fictional cities of Liamson and Bonifacio, we wanted to show a world that would celebrate the rich and diverse culture that shaped our own lives," the blog, published by Maximum Entertainment on PlayStation's website, said.
There is depth in Until Then's gameplay, allowing the main character to navigate his own social media bubble and seal his fate, making decisions that would change the game's trajectory, and more.
Everyday life is also expressed in the game through mini-games, which also explores the Filipino slice of life.
The minigames feature the characters paying for the jeepney, eating fishballs, and more.
