MANILA – She previously promised to bring “the whole Philippines” with her during the national costume competition of Miss Universe 2018.
And Catriona Gray certainly delivered, with the main island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao represented in her one-of-a-kind outfit.
Gray carried a giant parol (Christmas lantern) from the province of Pampanga to signify Luzon; wore a body suit with authentic Pintados designs to represent Visayas; and donned accessories inspired by textile patterns from the southern part of the Philippines to showcase Mindanao.
Taking it a step further, the beauty queen released three videos explaining each aspect of her national costume in detail.
