MANILA -- Ayala-led lender BPI launches its biggest travel fair on October 18-20 at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati and on October 26-27 in Ayala Center in Cebu, promising great deals for domestic and international flights, as well as discounted travel packages and rebates.

“We want people to have access to good airfare rates during the Christmas and New Year break. The travel season for this fair is until September 2020. So even if they’re traveling, let’s say, in the first or second quarter of next year, the fares are going to be good until that time,” said Jenny Lacerna, SVP and Product & Sales Group Head of BPI’s Unsecured Lending and Cards Group.

Some of the participating airlines for the Manila leg include All Nippon Airways, Cebu Pacific, Cathay Pacific, Eva Airways, Jeju Air, Qantas Airways, Thai Airways, and Turkish Airlines, among others.

El Nido Resorts and Klook will take part as well, with the latter offering hourly exclusive promotions to BPI cardholders.

Cathay Pacific, Cebu Pacific, Eva Air, and Klook will also be in the Cebu leg of the fair.

“We’ve been doing our airline partnerships for the past six years. So we’re thinking now, how can we make it bigger? That’s why we sought the partnership with at least 10 airlines, putting them in one location which is very accessible with good parking, and this is where the idea came from,” said Lacerna.

Some participants will be offering a 3-month installment program, as well as a buy now, pay later program, she added.

"For those partners that are not offering (installment), they [the customers] can do balance conversion. They can purchase in full, and then call us, and actually, we will have an on-site customer service [counter] that will facilitate the conversion to installment as well,” Lacerna said.

Aside from these perks, BPI preferred cardholders will also be invited to exclusive preview sales on October 17 (Makati) and October 25 (Cebu), where they can also avail of a 3% rebate when they use their BPI Mastercard, or a P3,000 gift card when they purchase using their BPI Visa credit card during the preview sales. (Both promotions are subject to a minimum spend.)

If you can’t make it to the two locations, the BPI Awesome Travel Fair will also be available online for its customers starting October 18 until the end of the month, with preferred cardholders having advance access of the site on the preview dates as well.

“The benefits of being a BPI credit cardholder goes beyond being able to book your trips at special rates. When you get to your destination, using your BPI credit card for your international transactions can actually help you save money with our very low foreign currency conversion rate of 1.85%,” Lacerna added.
