It’s Showtime’s ongoing segment “Expecially For You” has been consistently highly talked about ever since it was launched in December 2023. Since it’s only seldom for them to impart their piece about the issues being tackled by the main hosts and the ex-couples featured in every episode, Jackie Gonzaga and Cianne Mendoza got to open up about their own past experiences in love during their guesting in the latest episode of “Let’s VhoGie,” the online program of mainstays Ogie Alcasid and Vhong Navarro.

The two gregarious hosts commenced the episode by quizzing Jackie regarding the current status of her heart, which according to her is very much happy since she’s surrounded by her loved ones, which includes her real family, her It’s Showtime family, and her longtime boyfriend, Hashtag member Tom Doromal.

Cianne, on the other hand, disclosed that she finds pleasure in being single for a couple of years now.

When asked by Vhong if it was because of trauma, she clarified that it was not, but more of the enjoyment that singlehood provides to her. However, she confessed that there are instances when she would yearn to have someone to share certain moments in her life with. Apart from knowing herself better, being single for the past three years also made her realize the value of listening to her parents or consulting them every time she makes a decision.

Their conversation then veered to the topic of exes, with Vhong asking the two talented and gorgeous ladies if they could be friends with their ex-flames. Jackie said that she never sees herself doing it since she doesn’t want to be associated again with whoever he is in order to avoid issues that may arise out of it. But she can be civil if ever she randomly bumps into him.

With regard to being jealous, Jackie admitted that she’s indeed selosa, but it depends on the situation. Since she hasn’t been in a relationship, Cianne conveyed that she is probably going to be vocal if ever there’s something that will make her feel uncomfortable and let her partner decide what he will do about it.

To make their exchange more exciting, Vhong came up with a fun game, wherein each one of them had to write three unforgettable things that their previous lovers did to them on separate strips of paper. Each of them had to pick one strip and they had to guess whose “sob story” was that and whoever owns it must share the context behind it.

All of them got to share their memorable “ex” stories, except Cianne whose entries weren’t picked. Ogie, meanwhile, was lucky enough to be picked thrice, so we got to hear all his three entries. Jackie got to impart two, while Vhong had one.

They then went on to play their version of the popular game “Never Have I Ever,” in which questions are still about their past romantic affairs. On the first question, Ogie recounted being friendzoned by a girl he used to like, to whom he dedicated one of the songs he wrote and gave to then-up-and-rising singer Regine Velasquez, who is now his wife, to sing.

For the second question, which was if they’re game to attend the wedding of their exes, Cianne said that she will only if she’s going to be hired as the singer, while Jackie reiterated that she will completely sever her ties from her ex. Ogie, on the other hand, recalled that he was the host when his former wife Michelle van Eimeren got married to her current husband, while Regine was the singer.

When asked if they have the so-called “TOTGA,” or the one that got away, both girls responded none. Jackie remarked, “Ako wala. Kahit nag-break o hindi man natuloy, at least mayroon naman akong natutunan doon sa relationship kahit papaano. At least naman may learning, so walang panghihinayang.” Cianne, meanwhile, was prompted to divulge that she’s actually seeing someone at present, which began last December. She refused to give further details about it to avoid being jinxed.

With regard to moving on, Cianne revealed that she’s already moving on slowly while still in a relationship once she feels that the love is fading. Jackie, on the other hand, tends to “torture” herself by listening to sad songs, reviewing their pictures, and stalking probably her ex and his new partner as her way of depleting all the sadness and pain that she feels. Vhong agreed to it, saying that it’s easy for him to move forward if all he feels towards his ex is anger. Ogie, meanwhile, turns to writing sad love songs.

The lighthearted and insightful conversation capped off with Vhong and Ogie thanking their gorgeous guests and teasing the viewers that this is going to have a Part 2.

Catch Vhong, Ogie, Jackie, and Cianne on It’s Showtime, Mondays to Saturdays at noontime on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and GTV.
