Every year, Din Tai Fung fans mark their calendars for the highly anticipated Xiao Long Bao Day, and it’s always a delicious adventure. Sometimes you get to taste new flavors from across Asia, and sometimes you score those juicy, soup-filled dumplings for just one peso!

Get ready for Xiao Long Bao (XLB) Day! Din Tai Fung

For the 2024 edition of XLB Day, Din Tai Fung drops two new XLB flavors inspired by Sichuan and Singaporean cuisines: Wagyu Mala, and Scallop and Prawn Laksa. These flavors will be available for a limited time only, from October 23 to 29, 2024.

Two limited-time flavors for XLB Day 2024 Din Tai Fung

The Wagyu Mala XLB forms a layered medley of warmth and umami, with indulgent bites of Japanese wagyu enhanced by Sichuan peppercorn, cinnamon, and star anise for brightness.

The Scallop and Prawn Laksa XLB pays tribute to the aromatic flavors found in the Southeast region. A rich and layered broth, led with spicy sambal sauce and sweet coconut, is balanced by bites of fresh scallop and prawns.

Each of these new xiao long bao flavors will come in three-piece and five-piece baskets, available exclusively for dine-in. We’re fairly sure demand will be high, so make sure to head to a Din Tai Fung shop early on those days.

A world-famous xiao long bao brand Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung is the world’s most widely recognized xiao long bao brand, with 179 shops across 15 countries and numerous accolades under its belt. Its maiden shop along Xinyi Road in Taipei was named one of the top ten restaurants in the world by The New York Times, and the number one restaurant in Asia by The Daily Meal. Its xiao long bao have been called “The World’s Greatest Dumplings” by Forbes magazine, and described as “small miracles” by Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold.

The excitement of XLB Day owes a lot to the essential goodness of these dim sum mouthfuls. Because—let’s be real—xiao long bao isn’t just a dish, it’s an experience: perfectly pleated, bursting with savory soup, and wrapped in a thin, delicate skin that melts in your mouth. Ready to take a bite?
