KENZO has announced Vernon, a South Korean K-pop artist and hip-hop unit member of SEVENTEEN, as its first global ambassador. Being of Korean-American descent, the New York-born singer has collaborated with artists such as Tobi Lou and Charli XCX and has contributed to the K-pop group’s lyrics and compositions.
Late last year, he released a pop-punk solo single titled 'Black Eye.' Being decked out in grunge outfits for the music video, Carats, SEVENTEEN's fans, noticed how these reflected his airport outfits and took to social media to gush about the singer's style evolution.
KENZO is widely known for integrating Asian influences into its European designs, producing pieces that combine print, refined colors, and signature motifs. With Artistic Director Nigo, who is no stranger to the music scene and has collaborated with the likes of Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky, the partnership is a manifestation of the brand’s strong connections to the international entertainment scene. Nigo expresses how he was “pleased and grateful to welcome Vernon into the KENZO family.”
Vernon says he hopes to show “a new side” of himself to fans worldwide, as he is expected to shine in the brand’s campaigns for their clothing and sneakers. At the brand’s Spring-Summer 2024 show for Paris Fashion Week, Vernon attended the show in a striking leather outfit. Take a look at the gallery down below to see highlights from this trip!
